The partnership developed in celebration of the launch of the National Lottery’s ‘Bigger Better Lotto’ game last weekend, will run daily in the Irish Independent and Sunday Independent from 6th September.
In a survey carried out by the Irish Independent, it appears we are a nation of sensible spenders. Key findings show that 20% of those surveyed would put the €20,000 towards a deposit on their first home; 9% to help pay off mortgage; 12% to re-style their home; and 10% would opt to invest in a savings account. Surprisingly only 3% would use the cash for a sun holiday.
The exciting giveaway of a share of €100,000 marks the largest ever bonanza from the Irish Independent and Sunday Independent. There is €20,000 a week up for grabs in weeks one, two and three; €10,000 in weeks four and five; and two lucky winners get €10,000 each in week six.
Arlene Regan, Marketing and Promotions Manager with the Irish Independent, said:
“The Irish Independent and Sunday Independent are delighted to team up with the National Lottery for this exciting giveaway to our loyal readers. We are expecting a high volume of applications for this once off promotion and look forward to providing our readers with their share of the €100,000 prize fund.”
Eddie Banville, Head of Marketing with the National Lottery added;
“New Bigger Better Lotto is an exciting game that offers bigger jackpots and more ways to win to our players. Our partnership with the Irish Independent and Sunday Independent will bring the fun and excitement of the new game directly to readers over the next few weeks and we look forward to rewarding the weekly lucky winners with their share of the significant €100,000 prize fund.”
Entry is unlimited so participants can enter as often as they like. For a chance to win, readers must collect six tokens from Sunday 6th September to Saturday 17th October from either publication and declare what their dream is, should they win. The weekly draw closes each Tuesday. Don’t worry if you miss a deadline, all entries will be carried over to the next week until 17th October. Tokens can be used from any combination of days across both papers. Tokens will appear on page 2 of the Irish Independent, each day, and the Sunday Independent. Once six tokens have been collected, entry forms to submit entries can be found in the Irish Independent every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, and every Sunday in the Sunday Independent.
The promotion in the Irish Independent and Sunday Independent is to coincide with the National Lottery’s launch of ‘Bigger Better Lotto’, with the first draw having taken place on Saturday, 5th of September.
