The latest Joint National Readership Survey (JNRS) shows that our stories reach a combined 2.4 million readers every week across our print and digital offerings making INM the largest media group in the country.
The figures report that 82pc of the population are reading news titles in print or online each week with INM titles the market leaders in each of their respective markets.
The Irish Independent has once again secured its position as the best read daily newspaper reaching 688,000 readers nationwide.
A truly national newspaper, the Irish Independent offers strong reach across each region with adult readership up by 2pc and Dublin readership up 16pc since the 2014 report. The title has gained the most online readers (+62,000) since the last JNRS report.
The Irish Independent is the No.1 news title in the daily market for ABC1 readers (382,000), males (359,000), females (329,000) and the most popular daily title for main shoppers in Ireland reaching 388,000.
The title’s affiliation with Leinster & Munster Rugby, GAA and soccer enable it to bring its readers the latest sports news straight off the pitches and into their homes.With over a quarter of a million readers (255,000), The Herald is the No.1 daily print title for Dubliners and the most effective way to reach Dublin audiences. Easily recognisable as a Dublin brand, The Herald also tops the market for Dublin under 35s, Dublin women (99,000) and Dublin adults with children (70,000).
The Sunday Independent
The Sunday Independent is Ireland’s most widely read newspaper, topping both the Sunday and daily markets with readership figures of 921,000 weekly.
The title has more readers than any other national newspaper in the following demographics: male (452,000), female (469,000) ABs (178,000), ABC1s (497,000) and main shoppers (532,000). The loyalty of the Sunday Independent’s readers are unwavering with more than half a million reading no other Sunday newspaper.
The Sunday World
The Sunday World, Ireland’s No.1 popular title reaches 660,000 readers nationwide. It is the leading tabloid in all key demographics including: ABC1 (172,000), C2DE (433,000), main shoppers (373,000) and adults with children (340,000).
Its unique voice in journalism is conveyed through an eclectic range of columnists and investigative correspondents.
The Sunday World is recorded as having more than double the readership of its nearest tabloid competitor.
