At the beginning of 2018, Independent News and Media were delighted to announce their sponsorship of the print category for the Cannes Young Lions 2018 competition powered by IAPI. An exciting initiative the category was in support of the Literacy charity, Suas.
Competitors were asked to develop and create a stand-out, captivating and unique print advertisement. Huskies did just that. With a chosen design, picked by a panel of esteemed judges, Huskies and Suas were invited to the Independent News & Media printing plant to have a look at the print process and how a newspaper and designs are brought to life.
With that, a brilliantly creative and powerful print advertisement was presented, highlighting the power of literacy and sparking great conversation amongst the industry.
The double sided ad was printed on a thin piece of newspaper. At first glance it appears as if it were a normal print page, however, when held up to the light, the concept appears clearer and the page becomes transparent. In doing so, the reader reveals the remaining text, which allows the entire message to become clear.
